The “first tithe” belongs to God and is intended to support the ecclesiastical structure of the church. The “second tithe” (Deuteronomy 14:22-27) is intended to create a community of believers that celebrates the goodness of God and shares His abundant blessings. SecondTithe.org focuses on faith-based community efforts including Christian education, family services, public safety, disaster relief, volunteerism, youth development, housing and shelter, rehabilitation, and other community efforts.

• You may want to help a charitable organization without being “affiliated” with them.
• You are shielded from additional requests from the beneficiary. Your identity is held in confidence.
• You are protected from targeted fundraising campaigns. Your information is not sold or revealed to third parties.
• You can avoid awkward situations when you and the beneficiary are closely related. In other words, you may not want the beneficiary to “know your business.”
